Dearth of good, reputed boarding schools in J&K: Many students prefer other states for education

Due to the dearth of ‘good and reputed’ residential or boarding schools at primary and secondary level in Jammu and Kashmir, many students at these levels move out to other states for getting the education, reveals the official documents.

According to the official documents available with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), “Many students move out of Jammu and Kashmir to other states and Union Territories UT’s for getting education at primary and secondary level in a good residential or boarding school every year because Jammu and Kashmir lacks the presence of good and reputed residential schools.”

The documents further state that “The gap offers a huge potential of building such facilities in Jammu and Kashmir.”

The residential or boarding schools provide students with the best facilities and infrastructure to come out gloriously.

“The bounties of nature, rich natural bio-diversity and the pristine environment of Jammu and Kashmir provide a suitable atmosphere for overall learning and development of the students,” it reads.

These schools further ensure the function of highest discipline. Students are encouraged to live a disciplined and good lifestyle that fosters their all-round development.

In the meantime, when contacted to Director of School Education Kashmir, Tassaduq Hussain Mir to comment on the issue did not respond to the repeated calls from this reporter—(KNO)
