Secretary of Tribal Affairs Shahid Iqbal Chaudhary Wednesday said that a lot has been done in the last two years for the betterment of students in Jammu and Kashmir.
He made these remarks at an event in Gujjar and Bakerwal Hostel in north Kashmir's Kupwara district.
Addressing the gathering, he as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said that in this era students should be talking about science, technology, research, and space and they need to explore every opportunity.
He said that it is not about building infrastructure, only rather equally important to go beyond that as well. "We aim to provide opportunities at both national and international levels. Students will be told about every opportunity," he said.
He listed achievements of his department including enhancement of scholarships, tabs among meritorious students.
He said that more reforms are in the offing.
“All feedback and suggestions are welcomed and will be considered for further improvement,” he said.
He also said that a lot of projects for tribal welfare are under process in Kupwara as well.
About hostels, he said that upgradation is happening and two more hostels in J&K are nearing completion. “Work on both of the hostels is going well.”
He said that civil services coaching and many other opportunities are being provided to students from tribal community
