Slight improvement in night temp in Sgr, records minus 1.0 degree Celsius

There was a slight improvement in the minimum temperature in Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir as against the coldest night of season at minus 1.4 previous night, the mercury settled at minus 1.0 degree Celsius.


Pahalgam was yet again the coldest place in the Valley where the minimum temperature settled at minus 3.0 degree Celsius.

Details available with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said that the mercury in Srinagar settled at minus 1.0 degree Celsius while the other parts also recorded sub-zero temperature in the intervening night of Friday-Saturday.

The world famous ski-resort, Gulmarg recorded a minimum temperature of minus 0.4 degree Celsius while Kupwara in north Kashmir recorded a temperature of minus 1.5 degree Celsius.

As per the details available, the mercury in Kokernag in South Kashmir settled at minus 2.8 degree Celsius while in Qazigund the minimum temperature was recorded a low of 1.4 degree Celsius.

Pertinently, there is no forecast of any wet spell during the next few days. Deputy Director Meteorological department (MeT) had told KNO that the weather would remain mostly dry till the end of this month—(KNO)
