'Srinagar records 39 cases', active cases 966 in J&K


Jammu and Kashmir Saturday reported 137 fresh cases of Covid-19, taking the number of active cases to 1966 while no more death was reported in the UT in last 24 hours and death toll stands at 4,782.


An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among 137 new cases,109 belong to Kashmir division while as 28 to Jammu division.

He said that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir have reached to 304,455 including 301,303 recoveries and 2,432 deaths, while total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 173,765 including 171,169 recoveries and 2,350 deaths.

He further said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 966 including 720 from Kashmir division and 246 from Jammu division.

With 210 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in J&K has reached to 472,472 which is 98.83 percent of the total cases.

“Among the fresh 137 cases today, 39 are from Srinagar, 18 from Baramulla, 22 from Budgam, 07 from Pulwama, 04 from Kupwara, 01 from Anantnag, 02 from Bandipora, 02 from Ganderbal, 14 from Kulgam and 00 from Shopian in Kashmir division while 28 are from Jammu division that include 10 from Jammu district, 00 from Udhampur, 01 from Rajouri, 02 from Doda, 00 from Kuthua , 09 from Samba, 04 from Kishtwar, 02 from Poonch, 00 from Ramban and 00 from Reasi,” said the official.

As per the daily information bulletin 6,698,852 persons in J&K are under observation while 169 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides 966 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 6,692,548 persons have completed the surveillance period and 387 persons are under home surveillance besides so far results of 26,485,715 samples are available.

“Out of 26,485,715 the number of samples tested negative stands at 26,007,495 while 478,220 have tested positive, among them 966 cases are active, 472,472 have recovered and 4,782 persons have died,” it added—(KNO)
