Urge J&K Bank chairman to establish facility in public interest; say repeated pleas didn’t bear fruit
Srinagar, Aug 20 (KNO): Inhabitants of Zafran Colony, Pantha Chowk on Srinagar city outskirts Saturday expressed deep anguish over long delay in providing them with the ATM facility in the area.
The residents of the Colony once again urged the Chairman J&K Bank to take steps to establish an ATM facility in the area as they have to travel to Pantha Chowk or to Balhama to withdraw cash. The residents said that both—Pantha Chowk and Balhama areas are at the distance of two to three kilometres each.
The residents of the area urged the J&K Bank authorities to install ATM in the area on fast track basis. "We have time and again been requesting the Bank authorities either to set up a branch on the main road of colony or to install ATM machine as people are facing tremendous hardships," said Irfan Ahmed, a resident of Zafran Colony. He said despite repeated requests to J&K Bank authorities, nothing has happened on ground.
Ishfaq Rather, another resident, said that in absence of ATM facilities in the area, they face a lot of hardships. “When we run short of cash, we have to travel upto Pantha Chowk from our colony. It takes 30 minutes to reach Pantha Chowk. We request chairman J&K Bank to take steps to install an ATM facility on fast track basis on the area so that people could heave a sigh of relief,” he said—(KNO)
