SED mulls to adopt Haryana model for Vocational Trainers in J&K



The School Education Department is mulling to adopt the Haryana government's Model or Policy for Vocational Trainers for its implementation in Jammu and Kashmir.

According to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the department has asked the officials to go through the whole process of engagement of Vocational Trainers particularly the implementation of the labour laws like provident fund, increment, leave, Maternity leave etc.

The government has also asked the officials ‘to assess the feasibility of Haryana Government's Model or Policy for Vocational Trainers for its implementation in the UT of J&K’.

The government said this while constituting a committee to review the engagement of Vocational Trainers and their terms and conditions.

The Committee has been asked to furnish its report or recommendations within a month with focus on making the policy more clear and transparent.

The outgoing Principal Secretary, School Education Department B K Singh also accorded the sanction for the constitution of a committee comprising of four officers to review the engagement of Vocational Trainers and their term and Conditions.

Project Director Samagra Shiksha will head the committee as a chairman followed by Deputy Director (Planning) School Education Department, Civil Secretariat, Chief Accounts Officer, Samara Shiksha and Under Secretary (M), School Education Department, Civil Secretariat J&K as the members of the committee—(KNO)
