Incessant Rains: Schools closed in several districts of Valley

In view of incessant rains, the Kashmir administration on Wednesday called-off class and office work in several districts.

The news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) has leant that that Deputy Commissioner (DC) Pulwama, Baseer Ul Haq Choudhary on twitter said, “Due to heavy rains in Pulwama district , class work in all primary , middle and High schools (Govt as well as Private) of district shall remain suspended today.”

“Due to heavy rains in Kulgam district, class work in all primary, middle and High schools of the district shall remain suspended today,” DC Kulgam, Dr Bilal Mohiuddin Bhat has said.

CEO Budgam said, “All the identified schools in flood prone areas in all zones shall suspend the class work upto secondary level today on 22.06.2022 keeping in view the safety of students.”

“Due to prevailing bad weather conditions, class work upto class 8th shall remain suspended in all the Government and Private Educational Institutions of District Shopian today on June-22.” CEO Shopian said.

Accordingly, the district administration of frontier district Kupwara said that due to incessant rains, it has decided to suspend class work in primary, middle and high schools across the district on June-22 as a precautionary measure.

CEO Anantnag has said that keeping in view the heavy rainfall, the district magistrate has given directions to keep all the primary, middle and high schools off today only. “All the HoIs of government as well as private schools are directed to follow the directions practically.”

The deputy commissioner of the district Dr Piyush Singla has said that in view of very heavy rains in Anantnag district, class work in all primary, middle and High schools shall remain suspended on June-22.

According to the Bandipora district administration, “In view of incessant rains, class work in all Primary, Middle and High Schools of the district shall remain suspended today, as a precautionary measure.”

Deputy Commissioner Baramulla in the official Twitter handle said, “In view of incessant rains, class work in all schools in the jurisdiction of district Baramulla shall remain suspended today.”—(KNO)
